Spousal Work Permit
or
a private post-secondary institution that receives at least 50 percent of its financing for its overall operations from government grants (currently, only private college-level educational institutions in Quebec satisfy the requirement under this category)
or
a Canadian private post-secondary institution authorized by provincial statutes to confer degrees.
In addition, you must have a valid study permit or work permit.
The work permit for your spouse or common-law partner is valid for the same period as your study permit or work permit.
Also be aware that spouses or common-law partners of international students holding valid study permits, work permits or post-graduate work permits are eligible for an open work permit, which means they can work for whomever they chose.
